The F.I.R.E. Certified Technician Program is designed to assist those professionals who provide fireplace & chimney restoration, repair service or sweeping within the hearth industry.

This certification was developed as requested by professionals to provide an appropriate platform for the changing hearth industry. This certification encompasses the real world application of a level I inspection while providing understanding of product performance and material application & conditions. It is important to have a broad base of knowledge when servicing all fireplaces, stoves, appliances, chimney and vents. This program is designed as the first step in the technician’s career. It allows for additional education and advancement as the technicians grows in their knowledge and experience.

Each student has an opportunity to obtain additional educational ranks on the building codes, industry standards, product performance, venting requirements, wood-burning appliances, gas-burning systems, pellet appliances and all related chimneys and vent systems. This is the base line for all hearth professionals and is considered a necessary certification to provide consistency with the hearth industry.
